What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Operations & Engineering Lead to work with customers and facility partners to help stand-up our new Construction Services capability. The selected candidate will plan and direct the execution of projects involving engineered systems, coordinating as needed with customers, leadership, and internal stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Apply leadership and tactical planning skills to achieve construction services project objectives.
- Manage the construction services program to ensure resource allocation is optimized, budgets are tracked, and projects are on track.
- Design, develop, and document facilities work processes and lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Analyze process design to reduce costs, improve work efficiencies, customer satisfaction, and performance.
- Plan, lead, and coordinate engineering and technical resources for facilities requirements with other internal and external organizations.
- Identify potential facilities operational risks, develop risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
- Make recommendations on the addition, expansion, or discontinuation of construction service projects.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range
$88,600 – $172,300
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or other relevant field plus 5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire
- Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Business plus 2 years of experience in one or more of the following: process design, quality, assurance, facilities management, or risk management.
- Knowledge of Facilities and Infrastructure activities.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple competing assignments.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-focused environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using a Project Management software (e.g., Microsoft Project).
- Experience using a facilities maintenance/management software (e.g., Maximo and TRIRIGA).
About Our Team
The Construction Service Team is being stood up to provide a more agile option to performing construction work at Sandia. We will establish core construction capabilities that will provide general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing capabilities. The initial scope of work will be to start with small projects and as the capability builds, we will increase the complexity of the work.
