Position Description:

As manager of the Operational Resilience America’ team, you will be in a unique leadership position to interact with people and teams, across different businesses and functions, working on topics that have a direct impact on the operational stability of the Firm.

Key responsibilities will include:

> Acting as the Firm’s executive for Key Business Services (Operational Resilience/Important Business services are similar terms) related matters for the business area that you will support in the Americas.

> Perform Identification of new Key Business Services as they emerge in partnership with key stakeholder

> Ensuring that required resilience activities are appropriately owned by the business and embedded into their business planning and management processe

> Overseeing support for IBS’ in mapping and documenting critical services, associated end-to-end processes and underlying assets that support those processes. Ensure that these efforts are captured and able to be leveraged for the recovery of those services during a business disruption

> Overseeing engagement with SME’s to assess any Third Party Supplier, Technology systems/hardware, Workforce or Premises Resilience requirement

> Provide strategy and thought leadership in designing severe and plausible disruption scenarios that aim to test whether Impact Tolerance levels are set accurately across each IBS

> Assisting the business to drive the identification and remediation of gaps of their Resilience capabilities and proactively identify and implement innovative solutions to mitigate Resilience risks in the future

> Identify vulnerabilities in the assets related to the resilience capabilities of the IBS they support

> Ensuring Resilience is given appropriate considerations on strategic projects / programs that are led by other Functions, representing the Resilience position and expectations. Partner and over time develop efficiencies and coordinated efforts with the Business Continuity team and other Firm Resilience programs (ITDR/testing/Exercises)

> Partner and over time discover efficiencies with the Business Continuity, 3rd party programs, Disaster Recover, and Crisis Management Programs.

> Experience in Wealth Management, Investment Management, Commercial Banking Operations desired with emphasis in Operations support to those types of businesses.

> Understanding the nexus of delivery of Front Office business with back office support and the technologies to deliver that business desired.

> Delivery of KBS program results through governance and delivery of materials as required to Regulatory Supervisors.

> Coordinate America’s program with the larger Global KBS and Business Continuity Programs #LI-SK1

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

> Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work successfully across multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines while producing quality results and deliverables in the space of Resilience

> Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess risks and issues through critical thinking while developing possible solution

> Expert facilitator with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving Financial regulatory and business requirement

> Ability to interpret regulatory guidelines and develop external industry relationships in order to help drive the program

> Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) certification or similar is a plu

> Experience managing projects across multiple stakeholder groups with ability to maintain a focus on delivering tangible results and specific deadline

> Very strong communication and presentation skill

> Ability to work and collaborate with team members, stakeholders and partners across all levels of the organization across all region

> Knowledge of, or experience in Operations, Technology, Business Continuity, and/or Cyber beneficial and associated certifications.

> Experience delivering exercises that challenge Business Unit responses to disruption, scenario creation for technical table tops, and identification of scenarios to aide in technical testing of assets that deliver services by the Morgan Stanley technical testing teams. (Disaster Recover, Data Base Recovery etc)

> Self-motivated, proactive, and calm under pressure

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $180,000 and $260,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs #LI-SK1
