Your role at Baxter

The Operational Excellence Manager will support Manufacturing operations and associated key functions (such as Supply Chain & Purchasing) in the identification and implementation of continuous improvements that generate Value Improvement Projects (VIP’s). Will assist, coach, and mentor manufacturing areas in executing projects that drive elimination of waste, increase efficiency and productivity whilst driving quality improvements. Projects will support the Production Cell to achieve designated targets and drive sustainable long-term benefits. This person must demonstrate a high level of professional expertise and consulting skills with the ability to influence cross functional teams to ensure the implementation of recommendations to improve operating effectiveness.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assess, coach, and provide constructive feedback to team to strengthen competencies and promote systems level thinking. Identify, initiate, and facilitate continuous improvements, lean manufacturing activities and initiatives, such as 6S, visual management, kaizens.
  • Lead, coach, and participate in activities promoting improved end-to-end process design and delivery of regional/site metrics.
  • Identify and work with teams within the Value Stream.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Continuous Improvement Methodologies, such as Lean/Six Sigma, with knowledge and usage of statistical applications Participate in Strategic Planning & Deployment process to define priorities and align with business measures.
  • Support standardization of processes and continuous improvement training materials.
  • Ensures products are provided to customers on time so that product quality, yield, operating costs, and process efficiencies are met.
  • Collaborate with other managers/customers to ensure our quality commitments are met.
  • Responsible for assuring compliances to all regulatory requirements.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering preferred).
  • 8 years of manufacturing/operations experience preferred.
  • 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to interface well with other departments and lead effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
  • In-depth process knowledge of related manufacturing equipment/processes and/or operations processes.
  • Advanced knowledge and deployment of Operational Excellence techniques and methods, including Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 6S, TPM, OEE and other modern manufacturing techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret scientific, and statistical data.
  • Strong professional writing skills and ability to prepare technical reports. Ability to clearly articulate information during regulatory/client inspections.
  • Ability to understand GMPs and other applicable regulatory guidelines and ability to lead audit-related activities.
  • Strong assessment and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead / manage large projects. Project management skills required. Excellent presentation and influencing skills required.
  • Ability to respond to detailed inquiries and present information to senior leaders.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use enterprise software.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data and information to determine paths for process improvement and potential root cause
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing business acumen.
  • Experience developing an annual operating budget and maintain expenses within the plan.
  • Green or Black Belt certification preferred.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a salary range of $80,000 to $180,000 and also includes an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
