Onboarding Specialist

Responsibilities

Peraton is expanding our HR team. We are looking for an onboarding specialist to join a new onboarding and assimilation team within the Peraton HR organization. This role will report to Onboarding Manager within the Talent Management team and will be responsible assimilating new employees into our sectors and functional teams. You will partner with the HRBP teams and sector/functional leaders to ensure that our new hires have a seamless journey as they go through the onboarding and assimilation process. Responsibilities:

  • Lead onboarding and assimilation activities for new hires within the assigned sector
  • Conduct new hire onboarding training and support new employee setup
  • Drive employee engagement and retention within the first year
  • Champion a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion and promote an environment where team members feel valued and respected
  • Monitor and act on survey data from onboarding and exiting employees
  • Work closely with leaders and HRBPs to schedule and execute new hire assimilation and engagement events
  • Contribute to a positive new hire experience by acting as a new hire advocate and the “go-to” person for new hires
  • Audit and follow up on all new hire training, ensuring it is completed in the appropriate timeframe
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
  • At least 3 years of experience in an HR onboarding or HR operations role
  • Government services industry experience
  • Experience using HRIS automated platform for self-boarding new hires and rehired employees
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks; strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge and familiarity with various onboarding practices, employment laws, and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Previous Talent Acquisition or HR generalist experience

Target Salary Range

$51,000 – $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
