Occupational Health & Safety Manager

The roles and responsibilities of the candidate will include but are not limited to:
• Oversee the Environmental, Health and Safety compliance for the projects
• Conduct documented daily EHS inspections
• Deliver site specific project EHS orientation
• Review EHS plans and assist with plan development when needed
• Ensure workers are adhering to their EHS plans
• Make certain workers are appropriately trained for their required tasks
• Deliver various EHS training modules
• Provide expert technical consultation and guidance to all operations
• Investigate incidents to determine root cause and develop corrective and preventative actions
• Work closely with the project leadership team to assist with facilitating an injury free workplace
• Collect and analyze leading and lagging indicators to determine trends and put actions into place to address concerns
• Partner with trade contractor EHS professionals and participate in the project EHS leadership team
• Act as liaison with the client’s risk management team
• Assist in managing a positive reinforcement program
• Attend company safety committee meetings and assist with agendas and initiatives

The candidate will conduct will also periodic assessments at various locations Frequency of the assessments will be determined in partnership with the Safety Director and National Response Director. Project Risk Assessments to Include but not Limited to:
• Perform an opening conference meeting
• Conduct a comprehensive EHS compliance assessment / risk assessment
• Perform a closing conference meeting
• Provide a formal report with detailed observations
• Present corrective actions and recommendations

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
• Five years of experience in EHS specializing in construction
• OSHA 30 (construction)
• Computer knowledge and efficiency, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office products
• Excellent organizational skills
• Functions effectively as part of a team
• Accountable and Dependable
• Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality
• Excellent communication and written skills

Preferred Education/Certification
• BS/MS in a related field
• CHST
• OSHA 500
• ASP/GSP/CSP/CHST/STSC
