Weyerhaeuser’s Western Timberlands has an opening for a Nursery Supervisor with our Western Regeneration business. This full-time position will be based at our Rochester Regeneration Center in Rochester, WA. Salary level is dependent on skills and experience.
Key Functions
- Committed to working safely and following all safety rules and regulations; demonstrate and role model safety policies and safe work practices
- Assist with daily leadership and supervision of company production staff and contract crews performing nursery activities associated with seedling production, which includes sowing, transplanting, irrigation, growing, frost protection, harvest, packing and shipping, and maintenance
- Follow and document reliable processes for safety, quality, production, and costs
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental rules and regulations
- Effectively prioritize, plan, implement, and manage activities to meet targets and deadlines
- Balance labor resources to ensure continuous improvement in safety, quality, production, and costs
- Work with team to drive innovation and nursery improvements
The Rochester site produces 20+ million container seedlings a year for internal and external reforestation customers and plugs for transplanting at our bareroot nurseries. Western Regeneration is comprised of 4 nurseries and 3 seed orchards throughout Washington and Oregon.
Qualifications
- Associate degree (or higher) in a Natural Resources related field OR in lieu of a degree, at least 4 years of nursery or ag production experience will be considered
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Flexible availability regarding days and hours of work during seasonal activities
- Ability to meet the essential functions of the position including working both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and uneven working surfaces
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to flow to work/projects as needed within the site and potentially other Western Regeneration facilities
- Residence within approximately 30 minutes of the facility due to business needs (relocation assistance available)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with seedling growing and/or production experience
- Current Private Applicator License holder
- Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of farm equipment
- Ability to communicate in Spanish
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $65K – $97K based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
