Salary/Grade: $30 per hour, 79 Non-exempt
Continuation of this position is dependent upon the renewal of the grant or continued funding.
About New Day New Home: New Day New Home is a housing program for survivors of trafficking.
Responsibilities
Description of Position:
The New Day New Home Trauma Informed Therapist will provide client-centered, trauma-informed, clinical
counseling to survivors of human trafficking residing and collaborating with the New Day New Home program. The New Home Trauma
Therapist is to develop individualized, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive service plans with victims of HT residing within the
home and support clients through clinical group and individual services throughout the duration of each resident’s stay. The New Home
Trauma Informed Therapist is to apply a client-centered approach to advocating for client access to appropriate resources. They will
utilize knowledge of clinical diagnostic methods and principles, various modalities of psychotherapy and counseling, and abnormal
psychology. The New Home Trauma Informed Therapist will use crisis intervention techniques and have knowledge of Federal, State
and local ordinances and policies regarding therapeutic issues. The New Home Trauma Informed Therapist has the ability to
communicate effective verbally and in writing and prepares comprehensive documentation and statistics. The New Home Trauma
Therapist is to work closely with the Case Managers, Milieu Coordinator, House Manger and other New Day staff to cultivate a safe and
trauma-informed living environment that promotes the holistic healing, growth, and development of residents. The New Home Trauma
Therapist is to participate in biweekly team meetings. This is a grant funded position and relies upon the continuation of funding.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Licensing & Certification: Must be licensed under Pennsylvania’s Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. Priority will be given to individuals with LCSW, LCSW-C, LCPC and LCMFT credentials. Candidates with Graduate level licensure will be provided with weekly supervision hours.
- Experience providing direct clinical work in an appropriate treatment field, indicating full competency in clinical diagnostic assessment skills, and in developing and reviewing individualized treatment plans.
- Experience with trauma informed care preferably a working knowledge of Sanctuary Model for Trauma informed services.
- Must have an understanding of the issue of Domestic and Foreign Human Trafficking.
- Professional-level communications skills verbal and written.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel from site to site as may be needed in the performance of duties
- As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
- Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
- Must possess an understanding of and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
