Media Specialist – Associate

UPMC is looking for a Media Specialist Associate to join their team. This position will be Fully ON-SITE at our UPMC McKee Place location.

Description
Coordination and implementation of audio visual equipment, including video and audio teleconferencing, Computer networking and staff for the daily operation on campus. Supports all technical and production operations for this system in cooperation with fellow staff of Media Services and IT support.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of computer technology and acts as a resource of technical information to the UPMC end user community.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of computer technology, network systems, and standard software and acts as a resource of technical information to the UPMC end user community. Attend training, as assigned.
  • Work on the creation and implementation of standards for all new construction or renovation pertaining to RF distribution.
  • Transport, setup and operate audiovisual equipment at various locations through the UPMC and offsite locations. Each location will be setup and tested to insure a quality event.
  • Schedule daily audiovisual equipment and staff, review room scheduling to anticipate needs.
  • Handle equipment emergencies as quickly and effectively as possible with minimal interruption to the event.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on all production equipment.
  • Assist Technician Specialist with repair and installations.
  • Problem Resolution – Advises IT users on how to resolve technology problems. Solutions frequently require independent judgment to apply IT professional knowledge, concepts, & principles. Independent judgment to make appropriate application of professional concepts, principles, and knowledge. Creative use of the problem resolution system. Uses multiple and diverse professional resources and references.
  • Interface with ISD support services to provide assistance on computer related presentation problem solving and support for projection or display. Provide front line support for Video Teleconferencing services in installed facilities. Assist with the scheduling of multipoint bridged video teleconferences between all UPMC and external facilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and typically has 3 years of experience in television and video equipment repair and video, audio facilities design
  • OR Associate Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field and typically has 1 year experience in television and video equipment repair and video, audio facilities design
  • OR Bachelors Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field and typically has familiarity in television and video equipment repair and video, audio facilities design.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must have full vision capability and have the ability to drive a car. Also must be able to lift 100 pounds.
