This position is located in the Public Information Office and is responsible for content on the organization’s website(s), social media accounts, Intranet, digital signage and television channel. Employee will design and develop web content, routinely review, maintain and update content, and ensure output aligns with the goals and objectives of the organization. Work is performed under the Deputy Communications Director and is evaluated based on assigned duties.
Examples of Duties
- Primary contact for content on the organization’s website, social media accounts, Intranet, digital signage, and television channel
- Develops and maintains content for the internet and Intranet portals, forms, and structures in accordance with the organization’s needs
- Manages the County’s primary social media accounts and provides guidance to departments regarding the management of departmental accounts, ensuring consistency across all platforms
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards regarding website and social media design and use
- Works with management and departments to administer and update content on the County’s websites, social media accounts, employee Intranet, digital signage and television channel
- Assists in marketing the County and its programs and services by performing professional work administering the County’s website, social media and multimedia content.
- Designs images, icons, banners, and audio enhancements
- Recommends and develops appropriate concepts and graphics for print, promotional pieces, and advertising
- Offers technical assistance, training, and consultation to content contributors and other County staff to ensure their messages and initiatives most fully impact their target audiences
- Collects and analyzes web analytics and similar data to adjust content routinely
- Posts relevant content on social media and online during emergency or elevated threat situations, to advise the public of safety and situational awareness
- Works with the Communication and Outreach Coordinators to assist in managing the county television channel, CCNCTV
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science or related degree and three (3) years of experience managing website content for multi-department sites; or equivalent education and experience.
Management Preference: Sitefinity Content Management System is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to audit and regularly review existing website, social media and other multimedia content to ensure information is timely and effective, reworking content as needed to improve the end user’s experience
- Ability to ensure websites and social media accounts are updated around the clock during emergencies
- Knowledge of website content management, analytics, design, and best practices and standards
- Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn web content management systems, applications, and tools used by the organization
- Skilled in excellent verbal and written communication
- Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Knowledge in graphic design and website content management
- Knowledge of website management software
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with officials, management, department heads, and other employees
- Knowledge of various and relevant social media platforms
