Job Description
General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for gathering, recording and editing local news events.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strong news writing skills and the ability to edit, produce and gather content
- Able to cover breaking/spot news, general news, and feature stories relevant to the San Diego community on your own on-a-daily basis.
- Create web content that complements the station website.
- Report, write and produce content for a variety of other platforms.
- Collaborates across all levels, highly organized and can work with digital editors, reporters, assignment editors, and other producers.
- Develop and maintain a network of news sources providing access to exclusive local news.
- Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines in a 24/7 duopoly newsroom.
- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

- Salary range: $70,000-90,000
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years experience as a Multi-Media Journalist.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated skills as reporter, photographer and editor.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbal.
Eligibility Requirements:

- Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Must have ability to work any of a 24×7 shift
- Must submit a sample of own work to be considered
Desired:
- Preferred prior experience with Dalet news system and adobe premiere
- Working knowledge of non-linear editing
- Working knowledge of Panasonic P2
- Ability to cover a beat
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking skills, able to understand and communicate complex issues
- Good people skills, able to relate to people of all backgrounds
