JOB SUMMARY
To support our rapid growth, CoolSys Energy Design (CED) is in search of a full-time, MEPR Project Manager and Designer/Engineer to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of building system MEP design experience with some exposure to refrigeration design and at least 3 years of multidisciplinary project management experience.
In this role, you will:
- Primarily manage multidisciplinary supermarket engineering design projects and project teams consisting of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and life safety (fire alarm and fire protection/sprinkler) designers and engineers.
• Perform design and engineering work in the discipline most experienced in.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, building owners, and clients to collect and organize project-related material.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets and monitor progress against established benchmarks
• Review deliverable deadlines and assign duties to maintain project schedule and efficacy.
• Perform regular project status reporting and communicate project updates to all concerned parties
• Ensure that all MEPR project deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations
• Participate in conceptual design for specific projects.
• Coordinate with local building officials regarding code compliance.
• Perform site visits to visually observe and document existing building and MEPR systems
• Provide support for other department activities as required including creating and maintaining AutoCAD and/or Revit drawing packages.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Other engineering or construction disciplines are considered based on experience and skill set.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience at an MEP engineering firm
• 3+ years experience successfully managing multidisciplinary building design project, preferably in the retail and food retail markets
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems design and installation standards and codes with experience with commercial refrigeration systems as a plus
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards
• Proficient in AutoCAD. Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities- Team player with sound business ethics and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral, written (including proofreading, spelling, and grammar), interpersonal skills, and teamwork principles to effectively communicate at all levels
• Willingness to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors to develop a full understanding of building energy systems and their operation.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
