MATERIAL HANDLER (1st shift, 2nd shift & 3rd shift) – Molding

Responsibilities

Starting pay is $19.00/hr with pay progressions to $20.00/hr in the first year.

Postions open on 1st shift, 2nd shift & 3rd shift

Hours from: 7:00am to 3:30pm (1st shift) – 3:00pm to 11:30pm (2nd shift) & 11:00pm to 7:30am (3rd shift)

PURPOSE: The Material Handler has rotating responsibilities for doing color changes, transporting product and raw materials around the production floor and doing floor maintenance. Responsible for all other assigned duties as well. This can be a great training ground for a technical position.

RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to the following):

  • Doing color changes as scheduled
  • Work closely with Process Tech & floaters to set up machines with correct resin, additive, color, and corrugte as stated in traveler.
  • Assist floaters with breaks when available
  • Assist Inspector Packers with lifting and changing out rolls of bags when needed
  • Maintain color staging area
  • Stack full cases of product on the skids according to specification sheet
  • Remove all old production labels from plastic gaylords before they are brought to the production floor. Make sure that they are labeled correctly
  • Remove completed skids as necessary
  • Help Floaters with returns as needed
  • Scan product in Inventory System
  • Knowledge of JDE
  • Operate Skid wrapper
  • Count scrap for the production floor
  • Sign off on Work Order Change and Line Clearance forms
  • Receive operator training

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Good work and attendance record
  • Ability to work extended shifts and weekends as necessary
  • Be able to work both independently and with others.
  • Perform assigned task in a timely manner.
  • Be Dependable and motivated.
  • Have basic math skills.
  • Need fork truck certification.
  • Need good communications skills, (verbal and written).
  • Be able to identify different mold compounds, (i.e. HDPE, LDPD, Polypropylene,

Copolymer).

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to lift 50 pounds regularly
  • Must be able to work around grease, oils and solvents without adverse reactions.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders.
  • Must be able to be on feet entire shift and to stand, walk, bend and stoop regularly.
  • Good manual dexterity of arms and fingers.
  • Must have 20/20 vision with correction (if needed), and must be able to differentiate color.
