Position Description
The Marketing and Promotions Manager is responsible for directing and executing strategic communications, marketing, and public relations efforts that promote the mission and goals of TechHelp, Idaho’s NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) and EDA University Center.
The position is responsible for leading with creativity and curiosity:
- Team – Develop and implement marketing plans, including branding, marketing materials, and program-building events. Direct special projects to enhance the reputation, visibility, and understanding of TechHelp in Idaho’s manufacturing communities. Lead and coordinate the TechHelp Team to create a website and social media content.
- Community – Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with community representatives, manufacturing and public interest groups, media, the university, and the MEP Network to generate positive, professional name recognition for TechHelp.
- Partners – Act as the TechHelp ambassador by participating and collaborating in events with organizations that enhance manufacturing community partner relations.
- Strategy – Collaborate with leadership on developing and implementing communication and marketing strategies, both external and internal. Assess and improve customer-focused business initiatives and internal business systems. Identify growth opportunities to support a successful organization.
- Research – Identify and connect with companies in targeted sectors and regions, recognize and penetrate new markets, trends, and opportunities, and use actionable intelligence to gather knowledge in Idaho’s manufacturing sector. Evaluate competition and service pricing, explore survey response data to drive new services and offerings, and track marketing efforts to develop actionable insights from campaigns.
- Business Systems – Maintain organization CRM business management platform to provide a dynamic database, identify opportunities for improving business processes, and make recommendations to build workflows to streamline sales and marketing processes.
- Staff – Direct the hiring, training, and mentorship of students to provide marketing and communications experiential learning opportunities and oversee their activities in an environment conducive to creativity and learning.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 5 years of experience, including 1 year of managerial experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in business administration or related field
- 8 years experience in marketing and communications, 3 years related managerial experience
- International business and marketing experience
