Overview
The Marketing Manager will work with the Director of Finance and General Manager to promote the facility and events while creating and maintaining relationships with local media and promotional partners. The Marketing Manager will assist in the advertising, media buying, promotions, public relations, and grassroots efforts for events at The Liacouras Center as assigned.
This role will pay a salary of $55,000 to $60,000.

About the Venue
The Liacouras Center is a 10,000-seat multi-purpose venue located on the campus of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. The venue is a full-service sports and entertainment arena featuring Temple University Men’s and Women’s Basketball, along with a variety of concerts, family shows, meetings, banquets, and more! The largest indoor public assembly venue north of City Hall in Philadelphia at 340,000 sq. ft., formerly known as the Apollo of Temple, The Liacouras Center was renamed and dedicated to former Temple University President, Peter J. Liacouras, on February 13, 2000.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update all aspects of the venue website: liacourascenter.com.
- Manage the venue social media accounts to include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.
- Develop suitable graphics in appropriate aspect ratios for all venue digital assets including the website, outdoor marquee, in-arena 360° ribbon, in-arena end wall signage, social media, etc.
- Develop marketing plans and localized strategies for events exercising sound judgment.
- Implement marketing plans including creation of advertising materials, media buying, promotions, grassroots, interactive efforts, and public relations for events.
- Negotiate and implement media and promotional agreements for events with promoters and media clients.
- Create collateral materials such as print ads, promotional pieces, posters, schedules, calendars and various ticket brochures from concept to completion.
- When necessary, maintain detailed settlement reconciliations and data summaries for events.
- Manage venue email database and outreach campaigns.
- Coordinate marketing efforts between promoters, artist management, and local media.
- Participate in the development and implementation of annual marketing goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.
- Develop new marketing programs and initiatives to maximize ticket sales.
- Work in conjunction with Group Sales Department to maximize revenues when up-sale or created content opportunities exist.
- Participate in monthly conference calls with counterparts at other OVG360 facilities.
- Preparation of weekly OVG360 marketing report.
- Work in conjunction with Group Sales, Premium Services and Corporate Partnership managers to maximize revenues.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum B.S. or B.A. degree from an accredited college/university is required.
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience in customer service related field preferred.
- Experience in ticketing/group sales or event planning preferred.
- Completion of technical or specialized training/education, or advanced skill in graphic design (i.e. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Canva, etc.) and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong leadership skills, organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills particularly in dealing with the public are required.
- Proven time management skills and reliable at adhering to time sensitive deadlines as required
- Flexible – must be available to work evenings, weekends, and all event days as assigned.
