Marketing Assistant|Part-time| Rupp Arena

Overview

OVG360 has an excellent and immediate opening for a Marketing Assistant in Lexington, KY. Central Bank Center is a convention and event destination located in downtown Lexington that includes the iconic Rupp Arena, convention center, and the historic Lexington Opera House.

This position serves as assistant to the Marketing Department; this position would handle clerical marketing and event-related tasks for Central Bank Center, Rupp Arena, and Lexington Opera House. A successful Marketing Assistant should be able to handle a wide range of projects and should be willing to commit up to 28 hours per week, but with a flexible schedule. With mutual agreement, the Marketing Assistant may work during normal business hours at the offices at Central Bank Center, as well as certain event hours at a venue of the complex in the evenings or on weekends.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $16.00.

Responsibilities

  • Production Assistance – Collaborate on traditional and digital advertisements using strong creative and operational skills
  • Digital Marketing – Work with the Marketing team to create / design digital materials; including event webpages and e-newsletters
  • Event Assistance – Assist with programs, projects, events and duties as assigned
  • Administrative Duties – With direction, create and assemble materials, record keeping and analysis
  • Interact with event planning and collect essential information, including previous event activities and marketing
  • Assist department with any required tasks, including restocking supplies, updating or creating social media posts, sending press releases, developing or enhancing event images, and furthering community partnership relationships
  • Discuss probable marketing plans with the marketing department and be prepared to explain why you believe a certain plan is most possible
  • Maintain a presence in meetings and team activities regarding upcoming events and always see if there is something you can do, learn or drive
  • Write up event recaps after each major event so we can assess what went well and what needs work

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing and/or equivalent education
  • Detail oriented and focused, needs to be able to work independently, with supervision
  • Excellent computer skills are a must, basic graphic design skills are helpful
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Excellent writing and public relations
  • Willing to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Event marketing experience preferred
