Managing Healthcare Data Analyst-Item 1242

Technical Business Analyst to align Data Analytics team to Business Operational requirements. The NYSOH System is a key component of New York’s Medicaid Enterprise system portfolio, and provides critical support for eligibility, enrollment and coverage data policy and operations for Medicaid, Child Health Plus (CHP), the Essential Plan (EP), and Qualified Health Plans (QHPs), as well as tax credits for QHPs.

Responsibilities

Summary:

  • Minimum Requirements
    • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
    • The candidate must be naturally curious self-motivated individual interested in analyzing data.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Health care data for eligibility, enrollment and coverage data, NOT claims.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience with NYSOH data.
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a technical business analyst in facilitating requirements gathering in a large technology system.
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in documenting requirements, presenting design objectives, and providing data analytics results to business end users.
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience with advanced knowledge in data mining including with tools such as SQL, PL/SQL, etc.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a data quality tester leveraging database tools such as SQL, PL/SQL, etc. along with building repeatable, automated tests.
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience with advanced knowledge in DB2 and Oracle.
    • Expertise with business intelligence / data visualization tools such as COGNOS, Tableau, excel for a large technology department.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

– 8 years of SAS, SQL, Tableau, Python, R or equivalent analytical/programming software experience

– Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Excel

Desired Qualifications:

– Knowledge of NYS Medicaid and/or health insurance claims data preferred

– Experience working with large datasets

– Excellent analytical and communication (both written and verbal) skills.

– Strong attention to detail and problem solving with the demonstrated ability to complete multiple competing tasks.

– The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

– The demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically with ability to present data driven or narrative findings or responses to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.

Preferred Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in proven technology process improvement projects (e.g., recommending more efficient processing solutions, solutions to reduce redundant processes, etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience tracking tasks as part of the software development life cycle (SDLC),
  • Helpful but not required to have project management experience, e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Must have good understanding of Data modeling and Data Mart best practices.

Positon is a hybrid and located in Albany, NY.

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $100-105k. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
