The Manager, SCADA & Performance Engineering is a team leader responsible for managing engineers and consultants in supporting all SCADA or Performance-related needs of the business. This individual will be responsible for assigning resources to projects for all phases of projects. This person is responsible for establishing and maintaining working relationships and channels of communication to facilitate his/her groups success.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure SCADA & Performance Engineering team meet project deadlines in both pre-construction and during construction.
• Establish work processes for his/her team to follow.
• Assign, develop, train, mature, mentor, hire, and manage personnel and consultants across projects.
• Develop strategies to achieve corporate & business unit initiatives/objectives and work to implement them in concert with other members of the leadership team.
• Review PV plant Performance Testing contract exhibit(s) development for alignment with company risk and participate in technical negotiations with the Client as needed.
• Investigate and contribute to ongoing research efforts to improve modeling of PV systems throughout their lifetime and throughout the industry.
• Provide Commissioning and Performance Testing support to Operations and Site Construction team as required by his/her team.
• Establish clear & concise Scopes of Work for Third-party Subject Matter Experts (SME’s)/Consultants.
• Schedule and plan work for internal team as well as engineering consultants.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Engineering.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or Data Analytics Engineering or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution.
• Minimum 10 years of Engineering experience; 2+ years of management experience.
PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Experience with modeling of utility scale solar PV projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
• Ability to lead & unite teams of differing personalities around a common goal/purpose.
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate commercial implications behind technical decisions.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and follow through on assigned tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
• Able to work in a fast-moving environment while maintaining a positive attitude in stressful situations.
• Ability to interact with various outside parties professionally via email, text, telephone and/or in person.
• Strong organizational skills necessary to document and track issues from inception to resolution.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations and recommend solutions.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
