Manager, Casualty Claims

The Casualty Claims department within IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Casualty Claims Manager. The Casualty Claims Manager is a strong technical leader with operational and technical expertise. The role will provide leadership to claims staff handling general liability and commercial auto litigated and non-litigated claims. This role can be located in one of the following offices:

  • Alpharetta, Georgia
  • Cheshire, Connecticut
  • Scottsdale, Arizona
  • Rolling Meadows, Illinois
  • Naperville, Illinois
  • Raleigh, North Carolina
  • Omaha, Nebraska

Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership to assigned staff by leading organizational change; developing and empowering staff; cultivating relationships; putting staff in a position to succeed, meeting their personal career goals while also achieving organizational goals; building effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals; driving engagement and creating a climate where staff are motivated to do their best.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring team and individual work activities, in order to inform management of current status of those work activities.
  • Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of service, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
  • Evaluates employee performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
  • Travel as needed to attend meetings, mediations, court hearings, etc.
  • Supervise 6-8 claims adjusters.
  • Conduct and/or assist in quality assurance reviews on a timely basis to ensure adherence to Best Practices.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:

Must Have:

  • Bachelors’ degree with 5+ years of relevant claims experience or equivalent
  • Equivalent is defined as 9+ years of relevant customer service experience including the 5 years of claims experience mentioned above
  • Relevant claims experience is defined as commercial general liability experience and commercial auto
  • 3+ years of Management/Leadership experience
  • Negotiation experience
  • Strong coverage experience
  • Experience identifying elements of fraud and identifying recovery opportunities
  • Ability to travel
  • Litigation management experience
  • Authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes

Preferred to Have:

  • Experience managing remote adjusters
  • Experience managing litigation adjusters
  • Insurance designations such as AIC, ARM, CPCU
  • Experience in NY, NJ, and CT

Compensation:

Please note, the annual gross salary range associated with this posting is $75,395 – $119,395. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for this position. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit sharing opportunities and more. Actual salary will vary based on various factors which may include specific experience and location.
