ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/ CREDENTIALS

§ Highschool diploma/equivalent required.

§ Knowledgeof federal, state, and local skilled nursing regulations.

§ Aminimum 1year experience in maintenance operations is required. Maintenance experience in a hospital, skillednursing facility or other related facility is preferred.

§ Knowledgeof OSHA and Life safety regulations.

§ Intermediatecomputer skills.

§ Mustbe able to read, write, and speak English.

§ Mustbe able to push, pull, move and position heavy objects and supplies on arepeated basis.

§ Mustbe able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the proper use anddisposal of cleaning compounds, liquids, solutions and other materials.

§ Mustbe able to operate janitorial and maintenance equipment in safe, efficientmanner.

§ Mustpossess valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.

§ Musthave an understanding of Geriatrics and Long-Term Care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performsgrounds keeping duties including but not limited to mowing, trimming, sweeping,planting, ice and snow removal, litter removal, etc. as directed by theDirector of Engineering Services.

2. Performsroutine maintenance duties in and about the facility including but not limitedto cleaning, painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, wastedisposal, etc. as directed by Director of Facility Engineering/designee.

3. Performsroutine maintenance on vehicles and maintenance equipment as directed by the Director/designee.

4. Operatesfacility vehicles and equipment as directed.

5. Beavailable on call when required.

6. Implementswritten policies and procedures pertaining to plant operations, safety,disaster prepared ness, etc.

7. Carriesout duties in a manner, which ensures that all residents are treated fairly andwith kindness, dignity, and respect.

8. Respectsthe resident’s rights including privacy and confidentiality.
