What you’ll be working on
About This Role
As a startup, the specific work we all do may change. So the most important thing to us
is having a solid, thoughtful team.
We’re looking for a leader on our team – someone who wants a high level of ownership
and who’ll help instill a culture of design and user-centered thinking in the way we build.
Responsibilities
Design is among our highest priorities as we increase our impact for our clients using
world-class, beautiful interfaces that thoughtfully solve UX problems.
- Execute the design practice at Loyalsnap
- Implement and maintain UX/UI and product design standards in accordance with
product development process and internal tooling - Level up our UI to be world-class (intuitive, consistent, a joy to use)
- Work with our product team to solve UX problems
- Establish and enforce style guides across product and marketing initiatives
- Make our branding consistent across our product, website, and assets
- Work with Product team to conduct user research and use quantitative and
qualitative user data to inform design decisions
What to expect
Our interview process has three stages. At each stage you’ll have time to ask questions
and talk about what’s important to you. We’ll ask for a portfolio, and then you’ll meet
with our:
- Head of Product (45 minutes: ensure our job aligns with what you’re looking for, tell
you about our company and team, and talk about ownership, leadership, and
conviction) - Product Manager and Lead Frontend Engineer (90 minutes: a whiteboard exercise,
and talk about your previous experience and your overall approach to UX. For
whiteboarding, we’ll give you a prompt and collaboratively problem-solve and work
through your design process in real time. Choose any whiteboard platform that
works best for you, like FigJam or Miro) - About 3-5 team members across different departments (60 minutes: talk about
collaboration and communication across departments, and talk about adding to our
culture)
You’re also welcome to meet with anyone else – we want to give you everything you
need to be confident joining our team.
We’ll ask for two references, and you’re welcome to provide more.
We default to Google Meets with cameras on. For the whiteboarding exercise, you’ll
need the ability to share your screen. If there are any ways we can make our interview
process accessible and accommodating, we’d love to know. (For example, we could
change the communication format or reimburse transit to a location with reliable
internet.)
