Administrative Assistant, Contracts

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to support our busy Contracts team. This is an entry- level position providing exposure to book contracts and publishing data systems. The Administrative Assistant will enter and maintain essential data related to book contracts; log and archive book acquisition agreements; draft various documents associated with publication; register books for copyright; and provide general help with certain administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be highly diligent and detailed-oriented. Interest in book publishing, contracts and data systems is a plus.

What you’ll do:

  • Entering and updating data in Biblio3
  • Uploading documents into in digital contracts system
  • Assisting with preparing various documents
  • Registering books for copyright with the U.S. Copyright Office
  • Interpreting contract details (rights, territories, author approvals) and responding to queries
  • General administrative support and special projects as needed

What you’ll bring:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Ideal Experience/Education:

  • Some prior professional experience preferred
  • Helpful: familiar with book publishing and data systems; previous work in book publishing or media
  • Ideal: some experience with data entry

This position will have an annual salary of $47,500.
