About the Division of Social Services (DSS):
The Division of Social Services (DSS) provides direct services that address issues of poverty, family violence and exploitation. We aim to prevent abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable citizens, and promote self-reliance and self-sufficiency for individuals and families.
* Provide excellent customer service to callers
Child Support Services calls:
-Listen to callers to ascertain informational needs and use knowledge of the Automated Collection and Tracking (ACTS) system to locate correct answers
-Maintain courteous attitude when dealing with difficult callers
-Use tact and diplomacy to diffuse emotional or antagonistic situations
-Understand and explain to clients, non-custodial parents and employers Child Support Services (CSS) policies and their application to individual cases
-Understand and appreciate the confidential nature of CSS information
-Maintain a professional attitude with employers and other child support offices both within and out of state to ensure cooperation and understanding of CSS policies
* Data entry:
-Update ACTS with phone and address changes, employment status and other information
-Enter appropriately documented event notes into ACTS to document interactions
-Determine if CSS agent worklist are needed and send properly drafted worklists
-Generate ACTS documents for callers
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school of General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience;
