This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resiliency and well-being of Soldiers and Families.

Clarification from the agency

Duties
- Oversees the accomplishment of work and evaluates park and recreation activities for pool and fitness operations.
- Assist manager by insuring adequate staffing of operations with personnel and the safety of users.
- Leads staff as required in the performance of their duties by providing coaching, directing, mentoring, training, monitoring and evaluating.
- Monitors and recommends scheduling for approval and leave requests. Approves leave in emergency leave as delegated by management.
- Performs checks and makes adjustments in water quality levels and that the pump rooms are maintained and operational.

- A one year probationary period may be required.

- Work schedule may be irregular. The incumbent may be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays and/or special events.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- One (1) year work experience directly related to leading a staff of employees in support of recreational activities OR education directly related to leading a staff of employees in support of recreational activities, AND
- Ability to use sound judgment, AND
- Ability to accomplish tasks within established timeframes, AND
- Possess good people skills that require the ability to communicate in a clear, concise and grammatically correct manner, AND
- Experience with office functions such as preparing and managing reports, AND
- a current Pool Operator’s license, AND
- have (or obtain by the start of employment) a Lifeguard Instructor’s certification, AND
- have (or obtain by the start of employment) a Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification, AND
- have (or obtain by the start of employment) a First aid certification, AND
- have (or obtain by the start of employment) an automated external defibrillator (AED) certification, AND
- have (or obtain by the start of employment) an oxygen administration certification.

Allowances, Incentives, and PCS Costs:
- Allowances, differentials, or incentives will be paid.
- Night differential has been authorized by the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Bargaining NF positions and will be paid at the rate of basic pay plus an additional 10 percent of that rate for all regular scheduled work between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (including periods of leave and holidays).
- The Employer will pay Sunday premium pay to regular pay band employees at the rate of 25% of the employee’s basic rate of pay for all hours of a non-overtime tour of duty when any part of the scheduled tour is performed on Sunday (including periods of leave and holidays).
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are NOT authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is NOT in the Government’s interest.
