GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Expediter is the liaison between line cooks and food servers. Responsibilities include ensuring food order is complete, assuring quality, temperature and presentation are met and exercise food runners to deliver food from the line to the guest in a timely manner.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Includes, but is not limited to the following.)
- Must maintain proper sanitation environment to include proper use, cleaning and handling of all equipment and product.
- Assure food quality, temperature, and presentation.
- Assure timely arrival of food to the guests.
- Ensure open communication between service staff and cooking staff.
- Ensure preparation of food items meet specific standards.
- Maintain superior level of professionalism.
- Knowledge of kitchen and storage areas.
- Timely execution of all responsibilities and assignments.
- Monitor, train and develop employee’s skills.
- Supervise and instruct others in quality, presentation and production.
- Expedite during meal periods to provide best quality and service.
- Maintain proper uniform and nametag at all times.
- Maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.
- Carry out policies and procedures of the Silver Legacy.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Maintain professional working environment, communicate well with others and uphold sanitation standards to the highest level. Ability to handle a fast paced work environment and be detailed oriented. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to understand and comply and enforce established company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures with self and staff. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and guests. Maintain communication with other leads to ensure smooth transition from shift to shift. Must possess strong communication skills and work as a team. Must maintain and ensure a high level of sanitation and safety. Must have a sense of urgency and organization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: High school education or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Certificate/License: Sanitation certificate preferred.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work may be performed in small areas having a 2-ft. access. Work entails various conditions of noise levels, temperature, illumination, air quality, crowding, balance and handling of sharp, hot and moving objects, slippery surfaces. Work may be performed alone, with others, around others, with verbal contact and/or face-to-face contact. Work may include shift work and extended days. Work requires use of chemicals, electrical, mechanical and computer equipment.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: (May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position). Position requires Team Member to enter & exit from the Team Member entrance which entails 4 flights of stairs (40 steps). Requires mobility to include seldom sitting, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, kneeling, balancing, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying 76-100 lbs.; frequent standing and walking, repetitive use of both hands, normal hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity. Requires normal sense of smell, taste, touch and hearing; the ability to distinguish letters and symbols; perform simple tasks to include simple reading, writing and math, clerical, compiling, coordination, analyzing, synthesizing, supervising, and instructing. Must be able to work with precision, follow instructions, influence others, meet time requirements, memorize, problem solve, use independent judgment and decision making skills.
