The roleof the Laundry Tech is to assist in the daily housekeeping and proper laundrycare of Fellowship Community to assure that federal, state, and localregulations are met. Performance is tobe in accordance with the policies, procedures and the Mission and Core Valuesof Fellowship Community.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/CREDENTIALS
§ Basicknowledge of federal, state, and local skilled nursing regulations.
§ Laundryexperience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility or other related facility ispreferred.
§ Highschool education or equivalent preferred.
§ Must beable to read, write, comprehend and speak English.
§ Basiccomputer skills necessary
§ Must beable to sort. fold and stack.
§ Must beable to sweep, dry and wet mop, and climb a ladder. Performs housekeepingduties as needed.
§ Must havean understanding of Geriatrics and Long-Term Care.

§ Meetsrequirements of Pre-hire assessment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs laundry dutiesincluding but not limited to proper handling of soiled laundry and linens,laundry washing and drying, operating laundry equipment, sorting and foldingclean laundry. Transporting and distributing clean laundry to proper locationsat specific times during your shift, etc. as directed by the Supervisor orDirector of Environmental Services.
2. Answers all calls forhousekeeping. Ex: filling of all soap, sanitizer, paper dispensers, cleaning upan accident or spill, plunging a toilet. (this applies to 2nd and 3rdshift laundry Techs)
3. Inspects laundry for propermarkings and report marking needs to appropriate parties.
4. Labels laundry.
5. Carries out all duties inaccordance with facility policies and procedures.
6. Maintains work area in asafe and sanitary condition.
7. Performs housekeepingduties as directed by your Supervisor.
8. Monitors work areas forsafety and report any safety concerns to the Environmental Services Supervisor immediately.
9. Carries out duties in amanner, which promotes the safety of residents, staff and visitors.
10. Properly handle materialsin compliance with facility policies and procedures to ensure safety and limitexposure.
11. Properly dispose of soiledmaterials in compliance with facility policies and procedures.
12. Carries out duties in amanner, which ensures that all residents are treated fairly and with kindness,dignity and respect.
13. Respects the resident’srights including privacy and confidentiality.
14. Knocks before enteringresident’s room.
