Description

Job Summary:

The position is responsible for the supervision and instruction of laser tag, and providing a safe and fun environment for children and adults. This is an at-will position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Set-up party room, gym and equipment for laser tag.

2. Attend trainings to learn equipment, games and procedures.

3. Explain the safety rules, game (mission) rules and how the equipment works to participants.

4. Lead participants through games (missions). Start and end games (missions) for participants.

5. Monitor the strength of teams and switch participants from team to team to make games more competitive.

6. Interact with participants during the games (missions).

7. Should be courteous and friendly to parents, children, supervisor and other staff members. Should possess enthusiasm toward teaching.

8. Assist customer by bringing in/taking out any party supplies when requested.

9. Take down and put away equipment. Properly care for equipment and return to storage areas in a neat and organized manner.

10. Clean-up after the party, leaving the party room and gym in the condition it was before the party.

11. Communicate facility and equipment repair needs to the Recreation Manager.

12. Arrive promptly and prepared for scheduled hours.

13. Possess ability to work with minimal supervision, to solve problems and to produce accurate work on a timely basis.

14. Gain knowledge and understanding of Park District policies and procedures and see that they are adhered to at all times.

15. Attend district-wide part-time staff orientations, crisis trainings and office staff trainings as directed.

16. Comply with the Districts Dress Code by coming to work in clean, presentable clothing and wearing an employee name tag.

17. Observe and follow all Park District safety policies and regulations. The safety of staff and participants is a continuing responsibility of all employees.

18. The District encourages its employees to take ownership of the District. As such, it shall be the responsibility of all Park District employees to pick up litter throughout the buildings, grounds, and facilities of the District.

19. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older. One-year of pervious teaching/coaching experience is preferred. The ability to prioritize and work independently or with other staff is necessary. Requires strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public.
