LADF Manager, Development

LADF is in the midst of an exciting period of growth and seeks a Manager, Development for the day-to-day operations of the Development department and frontline fund raising with donors of all levels. The Development Manager will be primarily responsible for administering, and implementing the foundation’s long-term development plan. A special emphasis will be put on strategy execution and donor engagement. Working closely with a variety of partners, the Development Manager will organize outreach efforts and support the planning and execution of all fundraising activities, in-stadium fundraising, special events, recurring fundraising programs, and online initiatives. Under the supervision of the Director, Development, the Manager, Development will contribute to the fundraising success of the development program by serving as a subject matter expert and a professional role model. The Manager of Development will contribute by employing and modeling key processes and programs that support an office-wide focus on collaboration, efficiencies and metrics-based performance outcomes, in addition to primary role responsibilities. Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with Director of Development, help raise over $18 million in revenue per year and increase annually to achieve fund raising goals based on program and charitable giving needs.
  • Assist Director of Development in the creation and implementation of the annual development plan and strategy, with a focus on individual giving and corporate donations.
  • Assist Director of Development in the management of the donor pipeline; support individual donor prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
  • Identify new donor prospects and cultivate relationships that will result in broadening donor base for LADF.
  • Cultivate, steward, and solicit corporate donors in partnership with the Dodgers Global Partnerships team.
  • Lead the refinement and development of corporate fundraising activities.
  • Manage fundraising efforts to increase efficiencies and effectiveness of critical fundraising activities.
  • Execute, implement, and support fundraising campaigns and events, including but not limited to: the Blue Diamond Gala, LADF 5K/10K, donor breakfasts/luncheons, board salons, fan-based events, online campaigns, spouses event, and other special events.
  • In partnership with the Development team, track online giving programs and portals (online registration programs, websites, etc.).
  • In partnership with the Development Supervisor and Development Coordinator, work with marketing team to ensure all in-stadium and external marketing assets are secured for fundraising promotion.
  • Understanding of Dodger premium in-stadium guests and the ability to translate and cultivate into LADF donors.
  • Assist with department budgets and tracking toward revenue goals.

Qualifications and Experience Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years relevant experience in nonprofit or foundation fundraising
  • Experience managing corporate and individual donors in a nonprofit setting
  • Experience managing fundraising campaigns and programs to meet revenue goals
  • Extremely organized and detailed-oriented
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to interact, establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to raise funds for the Foundation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize time and priorities, and meet concurrent deadlines
  • Experience working in teams and leading teams to achieve shared goals
  • Experience working with organized sports organizations
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional work ethic and ability to manage information confidentially
  • Flexibility in approach and willingness to adapt when necessary
  • Proactive and action-oriented personality; strong sense of pace and urgency
  • Strong computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office and database programs (Salesforce a plus).
