Overview

DLH Corp Company, is looking for a Data Analyst I (Laboratory), lab experience required, to join our talented and innovative team supporting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA.

CDC’s National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP), the Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) is charged with preventing HIV infection and reducing the incidence of HIV-related illness and death. The overarching objectives of the contract held by DLH are to assist DHP in addressing its public health mission by providing data management, data governance, data analysis, and data dissemination support to strengthen the nationwide capacity to monitor the HIV epidemic.

The HIV Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) lab is housed within the Laboratory Branch. Laboratory testing is executed in accordance with CLIA regulations related to HIV1 and HIV2 diagnostic testing. The primary objectives are to provide laboratory expertise in processing specimens for HIV diagnostics and record/report test results in the approved CLIA format. Job duties include, but not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination of CLIA process improvements and
  • Conduct HIV diagnostic tests on all specimens received from a variety of projects and
  • Test specimens using serological assays including ELISA, Rapid Tests, and Western Blots and obtain less than 1% false positive or false negative
  • Organize and maintain workflows to minimize delays in reporting results to
  • Maintain a database containing accurate and properly formatted test results.
  • Report test results to physicians, epidemiologists, and state health department laboratories in accordance with CLIA regulations.
  • Develop lab and data comparison procedures; prepare / maintain related
  • Support document clearance processes including timely updates to the Document Control master database/spreadsheet.
  • Provide training to lab staff for HIV CLIA lab workflow organization, reporting, and quality assurance measures.
  • Prepare for, and participate in, annual CLIA lab inspections and QMS related activities

Qualifications

Minimum Skills:

  • 2-years’ experience with Laboratory specimen processing.
  • 1-year experience with Laboratory Quality Management System (QMS).

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of HIV specimen.

Minimum Requirements/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Science or related field.

Preferred Requirements/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Laboratory Science or related field.
  • Detail oriented and able to create meticulous documentation of variables, datasets, and data attributes with a commitment to generating accurate data and products.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Basic Compensation: $65,000 – $70,000

The salary offered within this range will be based on the selected candidates’ skills, experience, education, market data, and internal parity. DLH may offer other rewards that may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. An applicant’s salary history will not be used to determine compensation.
