Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform power system modeling and technical analysis to inform, shape and develop transformative energy policy and regulation that facilitates high renewable energy penetration while maintaining grid reliability and resilience.
- Research and synthesize results of techno-economic analysis and laboratory/field-based technology assessments.
- Prepare assessments that inform critical regulatory/policy decisions aligned with beneficial energy technology advancements.
- Develop technological and operational approaches for clean energy transitions, including data collection and short- and long-range distribution, transmission and generation modeling studies.
- Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- M.S. in engineering-, energy-, and/or environment-related field.
- Demonstrated experience testing, modeling, analyzing and evaluating technical concepts and/or designs.
- General knowledge of energy technologies, systems, industry and policy.
- Excellent communication (e.g., written, verbal, presentation), organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in research organization(s) and establish and maintain professional relationships with industry personnel.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Practical skills relevant to power systems such as software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, HOMER), Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and prototyping capabilities.
