JAVA Software Engineer

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a motivated and talented JAVA Software Engineer to support the design and development of cloud-based SIGINT microservices. Join our team in Aurora, CO or Melbourne, FL and contribute to the mission of our Intelligence Community customer while gaining hands on experience with cutting edge development technology.

What you’ll do:

  • Development, integration, test, deployment and maintenance of cloud-based software components.
  • Implement software to develop new and prototype capabilities in an environment based on a fast-paced Agile methodology.
  • Working with end-user Analysts, Systems Engineers and Software Developers, the candidate will execute planning, design, development, and productization of applications for complex electronic data processing systems.
  • Software utilized will include: Java, SpringBoot, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ECMA Script)/Typescript, Swagger, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, D3.js (data analytics/GUI web tools for big data).
  • Interface with project managers and customers on a regular basis, which will require excellent communications skills and willingness to collaborate.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with a minimum of two (2) years of professional software engineering experience. An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated development and maintenance experience with Java.
  • Fundamental software engineering life-cycle experience; analysis, design, development, debugging, deployment and automated testing.
  • Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a polygraph upon hire.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Security+ Certification
  • Experience in one or more of the following: SpringBoot, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ECMA Script)/Typescript, Swagger, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, D3.js (data analytics/GUI web tools for big data)
  • Experience with js, AWS, Jenkins, Fortify, TestRail, Atlassian Tool Suite, Sonarqube, Kafka, RabbitMQ, COPPER
  • Familiarity with CM/build tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, GIT, Maven
  • Experience with Agile methodology to include Scrum
  • Innovative thinker with excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of industry trends and standards.
  • Ability to enhance and support a software application (government or commercial) deployed to production user.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 – $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
