Purpose and Objective:
SAP Labs, LLC seeks an IT Technology Services Senior Consultant at our San Ramon, CA location responsible for engineering IT solutions that allow seamless integration and efficient operation of workloads (OS, Container, DB, Systems) with infrastructure layer (virtualization, Openstack, Hadoop, container orchestration, public and on-premise cloud).
Expectations and Tasks:
Engineer solutions on automation, DevOps, IaC (Infrastructure as code), transfer or migrating workloads to the cloud and processes to ensure stable operations. Work on leading-edge projects to architect infrastructure solutions for SAP Applications using technologies offered by the hyperscale’s (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP). Work with Infrastructure as code (e.g. Openstack, Chef, Terraform, Ansible), Containers (Docker) and Container orchestration (Kubernetes). Work on migration projects of moving SAP on premise systems to public cloud. Work on infrastructure for build pipeline, CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous delivery). Work on SDN (software defined network), SDS (software defined storage). Assess, identify and correct operational risks and weaknesses of IT solutions. 5% travel required.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Instrumentation and Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study and 6 years of experience required. The company will also accept a Master’s degree and 4 years of experience.
Work Experience:
Experience must involve 3 years in the following: Create, patch, and administer sparse root containers, whole root containers, Logical Domains (LDOMS) and Solaris Zones; Virtualization of SPARC and x86 environments for Unix and Linux flavors; Configuration of LOM, ALOM, ILOM, ELOM on all Oracle Sun Servers; System Administration of Linux and Unix OS like RHEL, HP-UX, Solaris, Windows; RAID levels, logical volume creation, mirroring and file systems; Testing Wind River’s Titanium OpenStack for Building Simplex and Duplex on Dell R 430 Servers from Bare Metal; Creating Instances, Flavors, Volumes, Images, Networks, Projects Users, Migration, Live Migration, Affinity & Anti-Affinity by Wind River Titanium OpenStack; Design, Deploy, Create, Config OpenStack (Nova, Keystone, Glance, Cinder, Neutron) via command-line-interface tools to manage hypervisors, authentication, system images, volume storage, and networking respectively; and designing, creating and managing AWS accounts and services like IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, SNS, CloudWatch, ELB, Auto Scaling, Route53 for public facing applications. 5% travel required. Salary Range: $115,427 to $175,912 per year

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $115,427 to $175,912 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
