UPMC Corporate Information Technology Division is seeking a full-time Systems Analyst-Intermediate to support the process area of the IT Service Management Office. Under the general direction of the management team and senior staff, the Systems Analyst – Intermediate provides a crucial role in the direction of the implementation and on-going process maintenance of our IT Service Management (ITSM) tools. This individual will help improve the current IT processes – Incident, Request and Change management. The System Analyst will be engaging, training and supporting end users across the enterprise with UPMC’s standard IT processes.

The System Analyst-Intermediate will experience opportunities of interacting with IT and non-IT teams across the organization in understanding any struggles they are facing in our current IT Service Management processes to help improve these areas. Also, the System Analyst-Intermediate will have a specialized focus in enhancing the understanding of the broader impact of IT changes across the organization, so we can ensure UPMC is well equipped and prepared for all IT changes. This position will help with facilitating and running the weekly IT Change Control Board.

The ideal candidate for this position will have strong communication and organizational skills along with the ability to adapt quickly. It is essential for this individual to have a high focus on end user engagement along with exceptional technical writing skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with IT and non-IT teams across the enterprise to help improve our current IT Service Management process areas along with documenting these processes.
  • Design, reviewing, and creating end user training material and documentation that will help with ongoing process maintenance of our IT Service Management tools. Facilitate high-level user training sessions independently.
  • Responsible for demonstrating appropriate, clear, concise, and effective written and oral communications in all interactions to build relationships and accomplish day to day work and projects.
  • Maintaining and improve the current IT Change Management Process. Helping to facilitate our weekly IT Change Control Board along with any preparation for the meeting. Diving deep into understanding of the broader impact of IT changes across the organization.

  • Typically has 2+ years experience with modern technology and application support through education or practical experience.
  • Looking for someone who can hit the ground running and dive right into the work, highly driven and self-motivated to meet expectations.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of information technology fundamental tools and concepts (SDLC) of one of the information technology professional disciplines and applies that understanding to make independent practical contributions to IT work within a UPMC department or function.
  • Completes on-going training on-the-job, through courses, self-study, certifications and/or advanced degrees to maintain and enhance technical and business capabilities.
  • Additionally, this position may be required to maintain a stand by status as part of a rotation within the team. This requires 24 hours per day, 7 days per week availability during the stand by period. The frequency varies based upon the number of colleagues in the rotation.
