The base salary range for this role is $228,000 per year – $342,000 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award.

Overview

As an IT Principal Engineer at Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), you are here to be part of the growing IT Infrastructure organization. We are seeking an IT Principal Engineer to lead our IT organization. This role reports to our VP of IT and is responsible for defining, implementing, and executing against our technology strategy to support the launch of Fanatics Betting and Gaming.

Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures that are aligned with the company’s objectives.
    • Cloud Engineering SME with ultimate ownership of all private and public cloud-based hosting solutions
    • Partner with engineering to implement and support the BetFanatics AWS infrastructure.
    • Continuous Improvement – Driven to lead self, clients, and teams with an appetite to lead modern digital trends and cutting-edge technologies
    • Improve and maintain cloud engineering best practices and guidelines
    • Manage budget, resourcing, and strategic expenditures to ensure delivery of effective, efficient, and predictable operations
    • Provide leadership and technical expertise within the team. Be a mentor and role model for Engineering.
    • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, inside and outside of IT, and collaborate with leaders to support implementations.

Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience in IT management with a focus on global IT operations.
    • 7+ years managing, mentoring, motivating, and growing a goal-driven delivery team.
    • Experience with Hybrid and Multi-cloud environments, preferably AWS.
    • Expert understanding of modern application and database technologies.
    • Strong technical understanding across software, SaaS, and infrastructure
    • Expertise in all aspects of IT Operations, including Ops Engineering, Identity and Access Management, Help Desk Support, Asset Management, and Audit/Compliance.
    • Lead the selection and implementation of new technologies and systems that improve our operational efficiency and support our growth objectives.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and staff, to ensure IT aligns with the overall business strategy.
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that supports the company’s overall business goals and objectives.
    • Manage a team of IT professionals, including recruiting, training, and mentoring staff.
    • Work with external partners, including vendors, consultants, and service providers, to ensure the smooth operation of our IT systems.
    • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, server architecture, and storage systems
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring resources
    • Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures that ensure the security and integrity of our data and systems.
