Why does the job exist?
The IT Business Analyst I will:
- Provide technical support to projects and systems;
- Perform research, deliverable reviews, product and project systems support administration;
- Bring the technical skill in one or more of the following areas: applications, date, requirements, documentation, and support;
- Possess strong interpersonal, strategic thinking, and communication skills;
- Assist in defining, documenting, maintaining and governing IT architecture (systems, software and data) for customers across agency.
How does it get done?
The IT Business Analyst I is responsible for:
- Participating in ecosystem strategy development including analysis, opportunity identification and value cases;
- Reviewing and analyzing architectural requirements at the system level;
- Aligning system requirements with business needs;
- Researching, reviewing and making recommendations on adoption of new products and technologies;
- Ensuring all systems work aligns with the strategic direction of the business;
- Performing detailed analysis;
- Identifying patterns to help meet the business needs;
- Performing root cause analyses to solve system level issues.

- All Human Services Department (HSD) divisions and business units.
Ideal Candidate
- Defining and supporting systems and applications;
- Researching, analyzing and the ability to recommend new technologies to meet business needs;
- with business acumen, statistical and data analysis, data verification, problem solving abilities;
- And technical knowledge in systems, applications, data, connectivity, and computer security.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in any field and two (2) years of experience in information technology or business analysis. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below. PMI-PBA certification may be substituted for one year of education.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
