Job Summary:
Do you enjoy paying attention to details, having a variety in daily job duties and driving? The Wisconsin Union is seeking an organized individual with attention to detail for an Inventory Control and Driver position.

This position is part of a team that is responsible for the daily operations of the warehouse along with distribution of products in and out of Union South and Memorial Union and outlying units. Duties include receiving and stocking shipments, assembly of orders based on transfer sheets and distribution of orders with Union trucks. Additional duties include providing direction and oversight of student employees, communicating with customers and supervisors on product shortages and orders, and distribution of supplies and mail within buildings. Responsibilities: Assesses stock supply and submits orders, verifies shipment receipt, and maintains shipping, receiving, and inventory records to ensure unit has appropriate inventory.

  • 5% Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders following established vendor procurement procedures
  • 35% Inspects and inventories received items and processes notifications to appropriate entities
  • 30% Shelves inventory and maintains organization
  • 10% Generates inventory reports to account for available stock and usage
  • 20% Distributes and delivers food and product with WI Union vehicles

Required
-Ability to push/pull carts weighing up to 500lbs, and lift items weighing up to 60lbs.

Preferred
-Experience with receiving and storage of perishable foods, supplies and merchandise.
-Experience with assemble and distribution of processed foods, supplies, and merchandise.
-Experience with conducting inventory.
License/Certification:
Required
Drivers License – Valid and Meets UW Risk Management Standards
Must hold at time of hire and maintain during employment.
Work Schedule:
Rotating Week 1 and Week 2 schedule. Week 1: Sunday- Thursday 6am-2pm, Friday and Saturday Off. Week 2: Sunday Off, Monday thru Thursday 6am – 2pm, Friday Off, Saturday 5:30 am – 1:30 pm.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Additional Information:
The Wisconsin Union operates from several buildings on the UW-Madison campus including Memorial Union, Union South, Fluno Center, Pyle Center, University Club, Red Gym, and the Student Activity Center. The Wisconsin Union is a financially self-supporting division of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Financial support for the organization is provided by income earned by over thirty food service units and a variety of nonfood units such as games, guest rooms, space rentals and campus vending. Substantial support is also provided by student fees. The total annual organizational budget is approximately $60 million dollars.
