Internal Communications Manager, Tech

About the Role

The Internal Communications Manager will provide strategic support and guidance on internal communications initiatives across Uber’s Tech org. We’re looking for someone who is experienced in building an internal communications strategy as well as implementing it across a large organization. Success in this role depends on the ability to collaborate with leaders and cross-functional partners to connect the dots and communicate in ways that inform, inspire, and drive adoption across broad internal audiences.

Responsibilities

– Lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality work, partner alignment, and efficient execution.
– Write and edit content for various channels and leaders ensuring that technical/complex messages and terms are clear and resonate with audiences.
– Support change management communications, crisis communications, product announcements, and the production of All Hands meetings and functional events.
– Build and drive activities, plans, strategies, and discussions that engage, inform, persuade, and gain the support of various direct and indirect stakeholders.
– Work collaboratively across teams to build trusting relationships ensuring alignment on strategy, messaging, and timing for a wide array of projects.

Basic Qualifications

– 7+ years of communications experience, with a majority focus on internal communications highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

– Experience working in the consumer technology industry, ideally in a large enterprise environment with 5,000 employees or more.
– Demonstrate collaborative, inclusive, respectful, uplifting and trust-building behaviors that contribute to a positive work environment.
– Strong business sense with an understanding of how to apply knowledge to build comprehensive plans.
– Ability to work independently and efficiently while demonstrating consistent execution, follow-through, and timely progress against goals and plans.
– Ability to present ideas with clarity, in a logical and compelling manner.

– Thrives in a fast paced environment and is adaptable as well as calm under pressure.
– Proven ability to persuade, influence and respond to senior leaders and other team members; you are a confident and fact-based advisor to senior management who can balance multiple strategic directions and priorities.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $148,000 per year – $164,000 per year.
