Your Role: What you’ll be doing

United Launch Alliance is hiring! We seek a creative and strategic internal communicator to join ULA’s Government Operations and Strategic Communications team in Centennial, Colorado.

Our team is responsible for internal and external communications, branding, and events, including media relations, social media, advertising, website, merchandise, and events including meetings, tradeshows, conferences, and parties. While most of our team is at our Centennial, Colorado, headquarters, we support all ULA sites and work closely with executive and site leadership throughout the company.

The Communications Specialist 4 advances internal communications and employee engagement across the enterprise.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and execute an internal communications strategy that informs and engages colleagues in support of ULA’s mission, vision, and business priorities. This includes internal stakeholder management, message collaboration, and tactical execution.
  • Align and integrate internal communications with external messaging and strategy; identify opportunities to incorporate communication activities.
  • Evolve and manage internal communication channels to reach and engage diverse colleague audiences.
  • Partner with HR to advance people, culture, and inclusion strategies to ensure optimal employee experience.
  • Research, recommend, develop, and execute employee engagement program; including budget, activities, reporting, and action planning to ensure the program is strategically aligned in each ULA location.
  • Curate and create content for the company’s Intranet.
  • Work with internal clients to plan and execute strategic communications plans for their organizations and initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop strategies to create a meaningful employee experience with the company.
  • Maintain a calendar of speakers and work with the team to ensure they are equipped with papers, presentations, and messaging.
  • In coordination with HR, work to promote STEM outreach at all levels.

Your Background: What skills you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, political science or closely related field of study.
  • Direct professional experience in the field highly desired.
  • Self-starter with strong judgment.
  • Able to independently prioritize shifting workload, manage multiple stakeholders, projects and tasks with concurrent deadlines and work independently with minimal direction.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading and verbal presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex business information into simple, clear and concise content.
  • Availability to work occasional nights and weekends as launch schedule and events dictate.
  • Ability to create messaging based on feedback from stakeholders.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.

Summary Salary Range (Colorado Only)

$94,395 – $147,470

Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate’s experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
