The Technical Writer Intern will provide support in the creation and delivery of Technical Publications of ATA compliant documents used in the commercial aviation maintenance. The intern will review existing material and get an in depth of understanding of revisions, changes of scope, format, content, methods or reproduction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the review of printed technical training materials, documents and publications to detect errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar and syntax, in addition to verifying facts
- Review documentation such as Component Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins and Service Letters while complying with ATA iSpec2200 specifications
- Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Work with other Technical Writers, Engineers, and other cross-functional groups to determine needs for developer features that need documentation
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Technical Writing or related field
- Will hold a Junior or Senior standing in Fall 2023
- Knowledge of technical documents such as engineering drawings highly desired
- Able to think and write in context with the target reader or operator in mind
- Excellent oral, written, analytical and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and effective in a fluid environment
- Able to work independently and within a team environment
- Able to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
Must be available to work a full-time schedule from June 12th – August 11th
Benefits
The starting pay range for this internship is $21-24/hr however, base pay offered will vary depending on numerous factors including but not limited to individual’s education level, prior internship or work experience, job-related knowledge and location.
