Intern: Data Analyst – GTO NA Manufacturing (Spring 2024)

Position Description

As a valued member of the Quality and Engineering North America team, you will contribute to process improvements and digital tool development. Our goal is to contribute to the student’s development, as well as providing an opportunity for the student to work in a business environment within the manufacturing industry.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Development of visualizations in Power BI, automation of processes
  • Designing and maintaining data systems and databases; this includes fixing data-related problems
  • Setup and manage custom-made Power BI dashboards according to internal requests
  • Mining data from primary and secondary sources, then reorganizing said data in a format that can be easily read by either human or machine
  • Support development and tracking of data quality and data movement dashboard
  • Using tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts
  • Preparing reports for executive leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
  • Collaborating with Project Managers and leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance

Essential Skills and Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree related to data analytics/engineering and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship.
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
  • Previous experience developing data reports and dashboards preferred.
  • It is preferable that the candidate have experience with the following:
    • Excel, Power BI, Python, or any other scripting language
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Basic understanding of data report generation and visualization

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 – $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
