The 21st Century Cyber Charter School has an immediate vacancy for a ISD Tech Developer.
LOCATION:
The incumbent in this position will report to and work out of one of our school campus locations – West Chester (Eastern PA) or Murrysville (Western PA), based on the incumbent’s permanent address.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position has the primary responsibility to upload curriculum into the learning management system (LMS), stream and upload of digital media, repair course files and utilize basic coding. Included in this responsibility is assisting with the daily maintenance within the LMS to keep courses current and up to date, along with minor course content and/or application repairs that may be required.
The Tech Developer may be required to research, develop, write and edit curriculum, lessons and/or assignments to ensure high quality digital delivery of curriculum to meet state-mandated academic standards. The Tech Developer will train and collaborate with teachers and other instructional design staff members to resolve any curriculum issues that may be identified.
This position will provide support to the Department Heads, and school teaching staff in context of developing digital materials to be used for 21CCCS online courses. This position will provide support during Staff & Board Meeting
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:The following list of duties and responsibilities are representative of the essential functions of the position but is not all-inclusive.
- Manage the input of all instructional materials into LMS. Maintain/repair course content and/or digital media in LMS
- Evaluate and employ innovative technologies to enhance the interactivity and functionality of the materials & content. Determine the optimal processes for creation and delivery of digital content
- Support organizational instructional/educational technology goals and initiatives by remaining current with developments in instructional technology; researching, being knowledgeable of and anticipating technological advancements that 21CCCS can integrate into curriculum to engage students and provide 21CCCS with a competitive edge.
- Research, create and evaluate instructional materials/content, collaborating with Department Heads and instructional designers to produce original, excellent quality digital materials/content that partners with and forms the basis of core class content in 21CCCS online courses offered to 21CCCS students, and school districts/Intermediate Units through Partnership initiatives.
- Ensure that all developed components (digital course materials, content, media, etc.) meet, and where possible exceed, current academic standards. Materials and/or content must be developed to a high standard of accuracy and be ADA compliant.
- Work closely with the ISD team to create/adopt comprehensive style guidelines for primary and sub-projects, ensuring that they are executed and maintained in a consistent manner throughout the development process for all 21CCCS original instructional materials.
- Attend assigned Department Meetings to provide updates and support to the teaching staff.
- Provide 10-12 hours of New Teacher Onboarding training (per hire).
- Provide 6 – 10 hours of Course Development training for new and experienced course developers (during the school year and additionally during the summer).
- Be involved with the maintenance and updates that occur within the Orientation classes.
- Audio/visual set up for Staff Meetings & Board Meetings.
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS:
- In depth experience with/knowledge of online educational learning management platforms, technologies and E-book development tools (to include, but not limited to: Moodle).
- Competency with computers, computer software (to include, but not limited to: MS Office Suite, FileMaker, Adobe).
- Ability to successfully complete long-term projects that may require the application of repetitive processes to ensure uniformity across all 21CCCS course offerings.
- Organizational and project-management skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, function independently and collaboratively, multi-task and meet required deadlines.
- Research-based experience developing digital curriculum, incorporating state core educational requirements, with a focus on the methodology of online course delivery.
- Must have strong knowledge of editorial, production and digital product development. In depth knowledge of, application and compliance with copyright constraints is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in a related field (could include but not limited to: Computer Programming & Information Systems, Communication/Journalism, English, Instructional Systems Design)
- Instructional Systems design, curriculum design experience preferred (1-3 years).
- Teaching certification with minimum 1-3 years experience in public education in PA
Professional or Other Required Certifications
- Teaching certification essential.
- Clearances valid within 12 months of date of hire – Act 34, 151, 114
Schedule:
10 Month/ 195 Day (this position may work an additional 20 days in the school year, compensated at daily/per diem rate of salary)
Monday- Friday 7:30am-3:30pm

$53,147 – $65,792/year
