Job Summary

The Information Security Audit Associate will provide security analysisand audit coordination. The position will work with the audit leads to support them in documentation and scheduling.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide support to State Agency and County staff by coordinating information security regulatory audits/assessments that determine whether security systems are effective in protecting information assets. Assist in performing reviews of findings and provide recommendations to improve the overall security infrastructure and meet security requirements of various security requirements (State Security Policies and Standards, IRS Publication 1075, HIPAA, CJIS, MARS-E, PCI DSS, etc.)
  • Recommend controls that will mitigate and or reduce risks and vulnerabilities, and improve overall information security posture
  • Conduct training on audit readiness for participants, as needed
  • Track audit findings in eGRC tool – RSA Archer
  • Assist with cross mapping of information security framework requirements
  • Work with business, technical, and Archer teams to ensure that audit/assessment findings and exceptions are documented in Archer
  • Pull regular and meaningful metrics/reports from Archer to show status of audit/assessment findings and risk levels

*Please note: This is a part-time, Monday – Wednesday, 24 hrs. per week position. This positionincludes prorated state fringe benefits.

**This position is currently eligible fortelework:

  • Telework for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a remote telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies.
  • Candidates residing outside of Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) require additional review prior to telework approval upon becoming a finalist.
  • Candidates located in Minnesota, or a bordering state, do not require additional review.

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

This position requires a minimum of one (1) yearof experience in an information technology or information security role that includes:

  • Experience participating in or performing IT audits
  • Experience with eGRC tools (ex: RSA Archer)
  • Knowledge of Information security standards (NIST, ISO 27001/17799), legal and regulatory requirements and controls that have a direct relationship to information security and privacy practices (FISMA, HIPAA, IRS Publication 1075, FBI Criminal Justice Information Security (CJIS), Social Security Administration (SSA) Information Security Requirements for State and Local Governments, GLBA, Payment Card Industry (PCI), FERPA etc.)

*An Associate’s Degree or higher in Information Technology, Information Security and Assurance orrelated field substitutes for the required experience

**Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and a criminal history verification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediate knowledge of computer languages, including at least one object-oriented language
  • Understanding ofsoftware development techniques anddesign and documentation skills
  • Understanding of data management concepts, file organizations, operating system control languages, standards, and debugging methods
  • Ability to coordinate schedules
  • Ability to organize diverse sets of documents
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed technical information
  • Ability to develop and present written and oral information in a clear and concise manner
  • Effective human relations skills
  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques of systems analysis and design
