Are you an individual who likes to know how things work and fix them?

Levin Furniture is seeking an individual skilled in many different areas to join the team as an Apprentice In-Home Furniture Technician. The pay is $19 for the Apprentice Training program. After successfully completing the program, In-Home Technicians are paid $21 an hour.

Essential Duties

1. Master Essential Skills List in different types of repair.

1. Inspect, evaluate, and repair of merchandise.

1. Practice safe and secure material handling methods in accordance with product handling standards.

1. Report errors found on documents to supervisor.

1. Complete all documentation, including digital photos, neatly and accurately.

1. Maintain accurate inventory of customer parts.

1. Operate manual and mechanical equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

1. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

1. Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Physical Demands:

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers using telephone.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand , push, pull and lift cartons weighing approximately 50 – 100+ lbs. repetitively.
• Ability to use vision to read documents and computer screen.
• Ability to use hands to type information into computer.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with paints, fill sticks, markers and hand tools.
• Ability to color match using paints, markers and crayons.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and listening skills.
• Basic reading and comprehension skills.

• Ability to complete forms in an accurate, neat and efficient manner. Excellent organizational skills.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Ability to learn job specific software with ease and proficiency.

Education and Experience:

• Previous creative expertise.
• Previous experience with wood repair, metal repair, and fabric repair.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

This position does not supervise others

Work Environment:

Warehouse for training.

Traveling to residential neighborhoods of customers once the training is complete.

Work Schedule:

Scheduled shift, may vary due to business needs during the apprentice period.

Certified In home technician schedule is Tuesday – Saturday 8:00am – 4:30pm
