This position is based in San Antonio, TX

What you’ll do:

Human Resources (HR) supports the people side of business at USAA, driving improvements to the employee experience and building for the future.

HR interns will gain experience with the dynamic nature and full scope of HR at a Fortune 100 company, with exposure to executive leadership across the organization. In a team environment, HR interns may have opportunities to enhance USAA’s culture, develop new reporting capabilities, or strengthening talent management processes. An internship in HR will prepare candidates for the HR Leadership Development Program (LDP), a three-year program with rotations in business areas across HR.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs professional duties in support of operations for the functional area assigned
  • Applies foundational functional knowledge to produce work results in support of departmental initiatives
  • Manages limited departmental projects and/or participates as a project resource on larger initiatives
  • Identifies opportunities and facilitates basic improvements to processes and systems
  • Performs routine tasks under direct supervision and within established procedures and guidelines
  • May interact with clients for technical requests to understand requirements and limitations in different phases of project lifecycle to include research, testing and implementation

What you need to have:

To qualify, you must be pursuing a Master’s degree in Human Resources at a 4-year accredited university with a graduation date after the final day of the internship. Our 2024 internship will start on Wednesday, May 29 and last through August 9, 2024.

  • Pursuing a Master’s degree in Human Resources at a 4-year accredited university
  • Graduation date cannot be prior to August 10, 2024
  • 2 years of related experience and accountability for simple to moderately complex tasks and/or projects required
  • Foundational and conceptual knowledge of the function/discipline and demonstrated application of knowledge, skills and abilities towards work products required
  • Foundational level of business acumen in the areas of the business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required

What sets you apart:

  • Graduation date between August 2024 and July 2025
  • 3 or more years of foundational Human Resources or related experience

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the hourly range based on your experience and market data of the position. The hourly rate for this role may vary by location. The hourly pay for this position is: $30.

Interns will receive an intern stipend to assist with expenses.
