We are seeking an HR intern who will focus on internal communications and event management to support our HR department. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to see a project from idea to completion, and a passion for the work the Human Resources Department does (helping people!). The HR intern will work closely with all members of our HR team and assist in developing and implementing communication strategies that support our organization’s goals. Our employees are spread across 40 different states, mostly remote. We need some fresh ideas and an eager, outgoing attitude to help us create and host programs to bring everyone together, remotely. This HR Intern will report to and work closely with our Director of HR Operations, but be a key contributing member of the HR Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Help develop and manage internal HR communications, including newsletters, announcements, and the occasional social media post
Assist in developing and executing HR projects, including employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, and training sessions
Collaborate with HR team members to ensure effective communication across departments
Participate in weekly team meetings
Research and analyze industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our HR communications and event initiatives
Assist in coordinating and scheduling meetings, presentations, and events related to HR projects and initiatives
Provide support to other HR initiatives and projects as needed
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and work collaboratively with others
Self-starter who can run with ideas and ask for help as needed (this is critical as this position is remote)
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to think creatively and outside the box to develop innovative communication strategies
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
Passion for HR and a desire to learn and grow in the field
Experience with event planning a plus (greek life, volunteer work, etc.)
Experience working in a remote environment a plus
Eager to connect with employees in a virtual environment, hosting events and helping to ensure they run smoothly
Outgoing personality
This is a paid internship working 20-30 hours/week with flexible schedule (work should be done during business hours to overlap with employee working time, but we can be flexible around start and end time, and any school needs).
We are seeking a 4-6 month minimum commitment
This internship is a non-exempt position, paid $12-16/hour, depending on experience and location. Must be at least 18 years old. HR Intern will be employed by our third-party payroll agency, paid weekly, with taxes withheld.
$12 – $16 an hour
pay is dependent on experience and location
