Who are you?
This is a full-time exempt Health & Wellbeing Specialist position supporting DTE Energy in Michigan. This position is primarily remote but will require travel to DTE HQ in Detroit approximately 4-6 times per month. This position will report directly to the Manager, Workplace Health & Wellbeing. The Health & Wellbeing Specialist position is a client-dedicated member of the Virgin Pulse Workplace Health & Wellbeing team, and is a non-employee facing role, designed to support the Energize Your Life (EYL) Health & Wellbeing Program as a Project Coordinator. This role will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and supporting both our internal account team and our key client contacts. The Health & Wellbeing Specialist will perform a variety of duties that require strong knowledge of SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint.
In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:
- Collaborate with the EYL team to design, develop, communicate, and execute an annual health and wellbeing program plan in alignment with the client’s strategic goals and priorities
- Monitor, evaluate, and respond to program measurements and participant feedback, including operations and quality, to drive continuous improvement initiatives and goals
- Support our internal account team in developing quarterly business reviews, mid-year business reviews, and annual business reviews
- Interpret data and provide strategy and programming recommendations to our team of 12 employee facing Health & Wellbeing Specialists
- Conduct regular data assessment and reporting to internal and external stakeholders, to define opportunities, track impact, and determine next best steps
- Manage the DTE Communications Audit process and hold the EYL team accountable for following the communications audit to ensure all employee facing materials meet specific quality standards
- Conduct After Action Reviews (AAR’s) to guide the team through continuous improvement opportunities
- Maintain the team’s Standard Work Instructions (SWI’s) to ensure they remain up to date and accurate and identify opportunities to improve and expand our SWI library
- Create supporting materials that benefit the entire EYL team, such as specialty flyers and challenge promotional materials
- Keep up the EYL Annual Programming Calendar and evaluate opportunities for cross promotion of DTE vendor partner initiatives
- Review and monitor the DTE News tips created by the EYL team
- Support DTE & VP SharePoint folder organization and guide our team members to the appropriate resources and offerings
- Continuously monitor our Health & Wellbeing SharePoint pages and resources, ensuring all employee facing materials remain updated and accurate
- Update DTE Health & Wellbeing Intranet pages on an as needed basis
- Take the lead on supporting the key client contacts with award applications
- Establish the EYL team meeting cadence and meeting agendas and help to ensure the execution of productive and efficient EYL team meetings
- Provide advocacy for Virgin Pulse products and demonstrate Virgin Pulse’s mission of Changing Lives for Good
- Reinforce Virgin Pulse platform enrollment and ongoing engagement to associated solutions, resources, and partners
- Leverage community partnerships to support client goals including initiatives related to social determinants of health, diversity and inclusion, health, and holistic wellbeing (mental, emotional, physical, social, community, financial, and safety wellbeing)
- Collaborate with the client’s health plan and vendor partners to identify opportunities for health awareness and engagement, and to drive utilization of the client’s suite of health, benefits, and wellbeing offerings
- In partnership with the Manager, Workplace Health & Wellbeing, create and maintain the Health & Wellbeing Specialists monthly tracking documents and complete monthly quality assurance evaluations to ensure data integrity
- Partner with Virgin Pulse peers to share best practices and opportunities to drive best-in-class services to our clients
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including but not limited to pulling reports using internal systems, assisting with production of the DTE Annual Report, quarterly Take Care magazine, and support vendor partner relationships, etc.

- Bachelor’s degree in health promotion or other health related field such as wellness, health promotion and injury prevention, public health, community health, nutrition, exercise physiology, etc.
- Public health related certification preferred
- Project management certification preferred
- 2-3 years’ experience in fields related to health and wellbeing, experience in corporate environment preferred
- Strong experience working with Excel (managing team budgets and tracking team key performance indicators)
- Health plan experience preferred

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $60,000-$68,000. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for variable compensation as well as health, dental, vision, mental health and other benefits.
