Under the supervision of the appropriate Program Head/Department Chair/Director or Dean, the part-time instructor is responsible for teaching course content, preparing, and keeping appropriate records and syllabi for all assigned courses. Each part-time instructor will provide effective instruction in all classes by implementing active learning strategies and focusing on student learning outcomes. At all times, instructional personnel should be aware of the need to continue the personal and professional growth necessary to perform their duties.

Essential Duties
- Teach assigned classes.
- Assist the Department Head/Dean with all instructional activities within the department including, but not limited to development, maintenance, and evaluation of educational materials pertaining to individual and total department and program needs
- Assessing student learning outcomes and demonstrating the use of the results to make improvements to course/program
- Recommending improvements to the course/program based on assessment results
- Maintaining suitable class records which show student membership hours, academic progress, student grading system, etc.
- Recommending adoption or discontinuance of textbooks and/or other instructional supplies and equipment to the Department Head/Dean;
- Recommending new books, magazines, materials and equipment for use in the LRC to Department Head/Dean
- Maintaining appropriate course documents, such as syllabi, objectives, tests, lesson plans, etc.
- Experiment with new, innovative teaching techniques.
- Assume other duties as assigned by the Department Head/Dean.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
- Master’s in Physical Education, Exercise Science, or related field; or
- Master’s in another discipline + 18 graduate credits in physical education, exercise science, or related courses
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Prior teaching experience at the college level.
