Head of Public Safety Liaison, US/C

About the Role

Uber’s Public Safety team is seeking a Senior Regional Law Enforcement Liaison to lead the United States/Canada team. This is a highly dynamic, very fast paced role, including routine and ad-hoc responsibilities. The Senior Regional Liaison Manager will bridge relationships between Uber’s Public Safety team and law enforcement officials, nationwide. The role will also have supervisory and programmatic responsibilities. Role requires flexibility; potentially to be on call after regular hours or weekends.

This role is on a flexible hybrid model with an expectation of in-office presence in our San Francisco headquarters on Uber wide anchor days (Tuesdays & Thursdays). Our offices are beautiful and come with many benefits such as free lunch, snacks, gym, and a great working environment!

What You Will Do

– Lead Uber’s relationship with law enforcement in the US as it relates to critical incidents
– Motivate and align the team’s purpose with Uber’s broader vision
– Develop a regional strategy and deliverables to achieve business and team’s safety goals
– Establish operational objectives & key results; Create work plans to delegate assignments to the team. Track and maintain team accountability towards goals.
– Lead cross-functional engagement with internal stakeholders on public safety matters. Manage and lead the regional team to develop and maintain effective working relationships with public safety authorities.
– Develop, manage and sustain operational relationships with strategic LE and industry counterparts in various cities within the area of operation
– Externally promoting Uber’s commitment to safety, privacy and transparency;

Required Qualifications

– 10+ years of law enforcement or prosecutorial subject matter expertise gained through the private sector and/or a law enforcement or prosecution agency.
– LE experience including, direct investigative and personnel supervision, (can include supervision within an interagency or task force environment).
– Highly knowledgeable concerning global data privacy policies and relevant processes.

Preferred Qualifications

– Demonstrated mastery in LE efforts across a broad array of case categories
– Ability to liaise at the command level.
– Confident and articulate communication and presentation skills
– Capable of engaging in robust negotiation, conflict management and maintaining disposition under stress and in crisis.
– Demonstrated experience responding to critical incidents; directing personnel as they conduct complex investigations.
– Leads cross functional efforts where needed to access data, provide insights into technology needs in support of the team;
– Ability to participate in and influence decision-making processes with appropriate stakeholders.
– Demonstrated understanding of applicable regional data privacy laws affecting disclosures to law enforcement.
– On-call flexibility to provide after-hours support to team members who respond to 24/7 emergencies.
– Experience with the Google suite of products in a professional capacity

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $176,000 per year – $195,500 per year.
