What You’ll Do:
Ohio Department of Public Safety – Director’s Office – Human Resources (Workforce)
Report In Location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m
(CURRENTLY HYBRID ELIGIBLE) Will report into the office 3 days a week and telework 2 days a week. Subject to change.
Perform two or more human resources sub-programs for the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) (e.g. Performance Management (e.g. serve as an ePerformance administrator for ODPS by coordinating, tracking, reviewing &/or approving performance evaluations; provide technical &/or non-technical assistance to supervisors using the ePerformance system; notify supervisors of probationary &/or annual evaluation due dates; ensure annual cycle dates are entered into Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS); follow-up with supervisors on missing &/or late performance evaluations; advise & train internal employees, managers & outside agencies on completing performance evaluations; work with ODPS Labor Relations Unit &/or Ohio State Highway Patrol Office of Personnel on employee performance issues &/or performance evaluations requiring a Performance Improvement Plan); Position Descriptions (e.g. compose, process & approve position descriptions (PD); evaluate job duties to determine appropriate classification & write PD; review PD for compliance to classification plan; monitor & audit PD decentralization & position compliance)); Maintain agency table of organization (e.g., prepare weekly report for upload to org chart software; process new employee or update current employee photos for uploading; work with IT section &/or vendor on any issues or concerns; etc.); Assist with the administration & scoring of written assessments &/or interviews.
Utilize OAKS Business Intelligence (BI) reporting to generate reports for submission to departmental senior staff, Department of Administrative Services (DAS) & Governor’s Office reflecting ODPS Workforce Planning activities; Independently answers complex &/or confidential correspondence; Utilize OAKS to query HR data (current & historical) to identify trends, produce HR statistical & management related reports (e.g., turnover reports, wage trends, demographic changes, etc.).
Attend training classes &/or seminars in HR, OAKS, & BI reporting, etc.; Serve on committees; Prepare &/or present reports &/or PowerPoint presentations to groups of various sizes & all levels of management; Respond to inquiries &/or records requests from employees & general public; Assist HCM staff or other administrative staff on special projects &/or reports; Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration.
-Or 2 yrs. exp. in human resources.
-Or 1 yr. exp. as Human Capital Management Associate, 64611.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
