Guest Services Representative- Englewood Recreation Center (Part-time)

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides support to the Recreation Centers. The Cashier greets and assists all patrons that enter the Center and answers incoming phone calls. Incumbent is responsible for providing general information pertaining to the Center, site specific details and the Parks, Recreation, Library & Golf Department. The incumbent will process class registrations, pass memberships and daily sales. Receives and records payments, enforces policies and procedures while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude. The incumbent will provide after hours supervision of the facility. The incumbent functions as part of a team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Greets and assists all persons entering the Center, with a professional and pleasant manner, provides customer service by assisting the public with accurate information, either in person or over the phone.
  2. Effectively explains all benefits of membership; process membership card, parking permits and give facility tours.
  3. Answers incoming phone calls in a professional, pleasant manner and transfers calls to the appropriate staff.
  4. Processes class registrations while following correct cash handling procedures.
  5. Processes a variety of Point of Sale items such as special event tickets, and pro shop items.
  6. Answers questions pertaining to all facets of the Parks, Recreation, Library and Golf areas, activities and programs.
  7. Enforces all Center policies, rules and regulations while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude.
  8. Supervises activities to ensure Center and participant safety.
  9. Occasionally performs after hour’s supervision, closes and secures the Center at the close of business.
  10. Performs light custodial duties as needed such as spot clean up, as well routine equipment and facility sanitization.
  11. Able to work on multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
  12. Additional duties may include but are not limited to filing, calling waiting lists, checking members off on trip lists.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge: General knowledge of office practices and procedures, phone etiquette, basic filing and strong customer service skills. Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR and AED certifications, required within a reasonable amount of time from employment.

Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and members; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; alphabetize; spell; Operates office equipment, which includes: Computer; comfortable with basic operation systems such as Microsoft Word & Excel copier/fax. Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.). Physical capabilities involve sitting, standing, crouching, kneeling and walking for extended periods of time.

Education: High school diploma or GED

Experience: Previous work-related training and experience or guest service equivalent training and experience specifically with cash handling.

HOURLY RATE

$14.42 – $17.00/hour
