About the role:
Part of the marketing team, the Graphic Designer’s primary responsibility is to represent concepts visually for the agency and the brand. This position serves as the gatekeeper of the brand’s visual standards to design and produce printed materials (brochures, handouts, posters, ads) and digital materials (ads, social media and website graphics); broadcast materials; special event materials; branded apparel, merchandise, office supplies, and other promotional materials. This position uses software (Adobe) to design materials with text and images to create visually appealing and informative products for BCN’s stakeholders. This position also communicates with internal clients to determine the best creative approach and style. The graphic designer leads the design process for all assigned materials cultivating the text, graphics and other materials needed, and formatting them into a finished product meeting BCN standards. This position sometimes coordinates production with external vendors to ensure projects are produced accurately. The graphic designer must be aware of project budgets and strive to produce the highest quality work possible in a cost-effective way. The graphic designer continues to develop visual strategies for new projects as the scope of brand standards expands. This position may also contribute to an effective vision of how the agency brand can continue to evolve.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related field (advertising, graphic design, fine arts, or visual communications).
- Minimum of four years’ experience in graphic design. Must be comfortable taking creative design projects from start to finish meeting brand standards.
- Shares portfolio demonstrating a strong, consistent graphic design ability, and have a good eye for how graphics and text will look to create projects and collateral that are visually appealing, clear, and audience appropriate. A mix of creative and analytical skills is essential. Should have a strong sense of typography and color as it relates to a larger brand.
- Maintains brand standards in visual materials and be a leader in maintaining those standards when working with other staff.
- Demonstrates exceptional communication skills; the ability to talk through concepts for project layout with key audiences (internal and external clients) while being able to listen to ideas and articulate suggestions for improvement.
- Demonstrates strong computer skills; use of computer software (Adobe Suite: Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) for creation and editing of design projects, formatting text, and graphics.
- Have a good understanding of 4-color printing and how to prepare final files for accurate reproduction. Must be comfortable managing relationships and collaborating with various vendors for print and marketing projects.
- Exceptionally detail-oriented; paying careful attention to details such as margins, font sizes, and overall appearance and accuracy of work when designing and reviewing design projects.
- Be an organized project manager; working under strict deadlines, good at scheduling and prioritizing tasks to deliver projects on time. Be conscious of project budgets.

Salary Description
$62,579-$81,352 per year
